The C0012 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates a malfunction in the Right Front ABS Outlet Valve Control Circuit. This code is stored when the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) control module detects an electrical problem affecting the right front outlet solenoid valve or its associated control circuit. A properly functioning ABS is essential for maintaining vehicle stability and steering control during hard braking.
Code C0012 means the ABS module has detected abnormal voltage, resistance, or continuity in the right front outlet valve circuit. The outlet valve is located inside the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and helps regulate brake fluid pressure whenever the ABS system is activated.
Code C0012 should be considered a serious safety-related fault. Although the vehicle's conventional hydraulic braking system usually continues to operate, the ABS, traction control, and stability control systems may be disabled. Driving with these systems inactive increases the likelihood of wheel lock-up during panic braking and reduces steering control on wet, snowy, or loose road surfaces. The vehicle should be repaired as soon as possible.
You may be able to drive the vehicle if the brake pedal feels normal and no additional brake system faults are present. However, driving for long periods is not recommended because emergency braking performance will be reduced without ABS assistance, increasing the risk of losing vehicle control.
