The C0011 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates a problem with the Left Front ABS Outlet Valve Control Circuit. This code is stored when the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) control module detects an electrical fault in the outlet solenoid valve or its control circuit for the left front brake. Since the ABS is responsible for preventing wheel lock-up during braking, this issue should not be ignored.
Code C0011 means the ABS module has identified an abnormal voltage, resistance, or open/short circuit affecting the left front outlet valve. The outlet valve is part of the hydraulic control unit (HCU) and regulates brake fluid pressure during ABS operation.
Code C0011 is considered moderately to highly serious. Although the vehicle can usually still be driven because the standard hydraulic braking system continues to function, the ABS, traction control, and electronic stability control systems may be disabled. This increases the risk of wheel lock-up during hard braking, especially on wet, icy, or loose road surfaces. Drivers should repair the problem as soon as possible to restore full braking safety.
Short-distance driving may be possible if the vehicle brakes normally, but it is not recommended to continue driving for an extended period with this code present. In emergency situations, the lack of ABS can significantly increase stopping distance and reduce steering control while braking.
The C0011 code indicates a fault in the left front ABS outlet valve control circuit. While normal braking usually remains functional, the loss of ABS and stability-related systems can reduce vehicle safety during emergency braking. A thorough inspection of the wiring, connectors, solenoid valve, and ABS hydraulic unit is necessary to identify the root cause. Prompt repairs help restore safe braking performance and prevent additional system faults. For more automotive diagnostic guides and DTC information, visit OBD Spark.
