The C0015 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates a malfunction in the Left Front ABS Inlet Valve Control Circuit. This code is stored when the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) control module detects an electrical problem affecting the left front inlet solenoid valve or its control circuit. Since the inlet valve is responsible for regulating brake fluid pressure during ABS operation, this fault can reduce the effectiveness of several critical safety systems.
Code C0015 means the ABS control module has detected an abnormal electrical condition in the left front inlet valve circuit. The problem may be caused by excessive resistance, an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to battery voltage, or a failed inlet solenoid valve. The inlet valve is located inside the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) and helps control brake pressure during anti-lock braking events.
Code C0015 is a serious safety-related diagnostic trouble code. Although the conventional braking system generally continues to operate, the ABS, traction control, and electronic stability control systems may be disabled. Driving with this condition increases the risk of wheel lock-up during sudden braking, reduces steering control, and can significantly increase stopping distance on wet, snowy, or loose road surfaces. The vehicle can often still be driven if the brake pedal feels normal and no other braking issues are present. However, prolonged driving with this code is not recommended because emergency braking performance will be reduced without ABS assistance, increasing the risk of an accident.
