The B0001 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) indicates a fault in the Driver Frontal Airbag Stage 1 Deployment Control Circuit. This code is stored when the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module detects an electrical problem that could prevent the driver's airbag from operating correctly during a collision. Since the airbag is a critical safety component, this code should never be ignored.
Code B0001 means the SRS module has detected an abnormal electrical condition in the driver's frontal airbag deployment circuit. The issue may be caused by an open circuit, short circuit, excessive resistance, or poor electrical connection. Depending on the vehicle manufacturer, the fault may involve the airbag module, clockspring, wiring harness, connectors, or the SRS control module.
B0001 is an extremely serious safety code. Although the vehicle usually remains drivable, the driver's frontal airbag may not deploy during an accident. This significantly increases the risk of severe injury or even death in a frontal collision. The problem should be repaired immediately before the vehicle is used regularly.
You may still be able to drive the vehicle because the engine, transmission, and braking system typically continue to operate normally. However, it is not considered safe because the airbag system may fail to protect the driver during a crash
