P0087 – Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low

Description

The P0087 trouble code indicates that the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected fuel pressure that is lower than the required specification in the fuel rail or fuel system. The ECM monitors fuel pressure to ensure proper engine operation and fuel delivery.

Common Causes

Weak or failing fuel pump.
Clogged fuel filter.
Restricted fuel line.
Faulty fuel pressure regulator.
Faulty fuel pressure sensor.
Low fuel supply or contaminated fuel.
Electrical problems with the fuel pump circuit.
