Impact Sensor, also known as a Crash Sensor, is a critical component of the vehicle SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). It detects sudden changes in acceleration during a collision and sends information to the Airbag Control Module (ACM) to help determine if airbags and seat belt pretensioners should be activated.
