The B0017 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates that the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module has detected a resistance value below the acceptable range in the driver frontal airbag Stage 2 deployment loop. This usually points to a short circuit or low-resistance condition in the airbag circuit.
